Membership Principles
Membership Principles
Members of the Feminist Humanitarian Network must align with the Network’s Membership Principles, which require them to:
Be committed to a feminist approach
Be women’s organisations, or women-led organisations (where Board and management self-identify as women)
Have a focus on gender justice in their work
Have an inclusive and intersectional approach to their work, including being inclusive of women from the LGBTQIA+ community
Be engaged in, or interested in engaging in humanitarian space
Have the capacity to participate in the Network, and significant interest in belonging.
In addition to the criterion specified above, international organisations belonging to the Network must:
Be committed to opening space for feminist and women's rights organisations in humanitarian spaces
Be committed to supporting grassroots and national organisations to engage in humanitarian action
Have operational safeguarding policies in place.
All organisational members must align with the FHN’s membership principles, including being women’s organisations, or women-led organisations (wherein Board and management self-identify as women).

Being a member of the Feminist Humanitarian Network means:
Building alliances, and sharing resources and learning on ways to increase women’s leadership, agency and voice in the humanitarian system
Co-creating a powerful global feminist advocacy agenda based on the progressive feminist work and analysis by members of the Network to target shifts in the humanitarian system
Collectively advocating to donors, governments and other stakeholders for shifts in the current humanitarian system towards one guided by feminist principles.
Membership process
Please complete and submit the correct membership form - you can find the forms for organisations and individuals here.
2. Your application will be reviewed by the FHN’s Membership Committee and we will be in touch with any questions.
3. Once your form has undergone initial review by the Membership Committee, the FHN Steering Committee will formalise your membership.
4. Please be patient, the application processes and membership onboarding can take up to three months.
